It’s rare to see a black wedding dress, it’s even more rare to see an entire room full of wedding guests giving their undivided attention to the couple. While that gown is STUNNING, it paled in comparison to the overwhelming love that, quite literally, brought people from all over the world to be part of.

Rebecca and her family (plus that stunning black gown) are from Germany. She came to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student, and her “state-side mom” was their officiant (talk about pulling the heartstrings). The July heat was met with a forgiving breeze and the richest blue skies.
Nathan and Rebecca had their first dance, Mother/Son dance, and Mother/Daughter dance in the ballgown, and then Rebecca went to change into a gorgeous floral black-and-white gown! To be fair, Rebecca is a trooper and couldn’t sit in that gown, so she had been standing in the July heat for a bit before the dress change.
I wish there was a way to show in pictures how absolutely darling her mother is. It brings me all the joy to watch a mother dote so lovingly on her child.
It turns out, Aleese and I were the ONLY on-site vendors that weren’t close friends with the couple. There were tons of beautiful speeches bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and even the DJ.
As a surprise to their dear friend, bridesmaid, AND wedding planner, Victoria, the friends and family gathered together to show appreciation to Victoria for all her efforts by singing “For Good” from Wicked….and if you don’t think that doesn’t make my theatre major heart just explode, you’re wrong.
Better still, I believe this was the first wedding in a while with almost no phones out. Everyone came to be part of the experience, and that’s all we could really ask for.
